Cheltenham Flower Club

Willow Workshop

30 members and visitors met at the Pavillion, Hatherley on Thursday, 30th March 2023.  We spend a pleasant morning creating willow baskets and even some acorns under the expert guidance of Nicky Heal.

Andrew Lloyd – Demonstration 6th March 2023

Andrew’s wonderful demonstration was given a standing ovation by the 89 members and 15 visitors who attended this early March meeting. The flowers were spectacular and his use of them made everybody long to be a raffle winner.  Many thanks to Pam Slater for her vote of thanks and Margaret Hunter for her Foyer Flower Arrangement.  Thanks to the members who helped at the meeting with the stalls, raffle and assisting Andrew to load and unload his amazing props.

As we go down to the Woods by Emma Remington – February Demonstration

84 Members and 13 Visitors thoroughly enjoyed their journey through the woods with Emma, her superb arrangements, interesting tales and useful tips made for an entertaining afternoon and a wonderful start to the flower club year.

Welcome to the new flower club members, and welcome back to the members who renewed their subscriptions.  Many thanks to all of the helpers who assisted at this demonstration, to Wendy Lawrence for her Foyer Flowers and Chris Hyett for her Vote of Thanks.
There are still a few places left for the Willow Workshop on 30th March, please contact a committee member for further details.

Christmas Demonstration 19th December

What a week!!, after the demonstration was postponed due to heating and weather issues, the advertised demonstrator came down with COVID!

Many thanks go to Yvonne Berry for standing in at the last minute with a Christmas version of her “Off My Trolley” demonstration.  Despite the late change of date the meeting was attended by 75 members and 20 visitors.  Thanks go to Judith Daws for finding a new demonstrator literally at the eleventh hour, Chris Hyett for her vote of thanks, Rosemary Stammers for her foyer decoration and all the helpers who ran stalls and assisted in so many ways to make this demonstration happen, against all odds.

Once again apologies for the microphone issues, the committee is still in negotiations with the Pump Room to resolve these.
