September Meeting

75 members and 6 visitors attended the September meeting.  Chairman Caroline welcomed everybody back from the Summer Break, the club was particularly pleased that with Septembers’ new members the club membership is back to 100!
The Club was delighted to see the return of demonstrator Sally Taylor with her demonstration “Sallying Forth Once More”, Sally thoroughly entertained her audience with her glorious arrangements and tales of life.  After the demonstration, long term member Pat Jacques was presented with a card and gift in celebration of her forthcoming “big” birthday and in recognition of everything that she contributes to the club.  Thanks to all volunteers and helpers, especially Paula Harper for her foyer flowers and Rosemary Stammers for her vote of thanks.

“Serendipity” by Delyth Price

75 members and 7 visitors gave Delyth a well deserved standing ovation.  She thoroughly entertained her audience with her beautiful arrangements, her tales of life on the farm and her travels as a demonstrator.

Thanks to Janice Cooke for her foyer flowers and Heather Peacey for her vote of thanks. Many thanks to all of the members who helped at the demonstration.

1954 to 2024 70th Anniversary Celebrations

88 members, visitors and friends of the club celebrated the 70th Anniversary at the Pavilion on Monday 3rd June.

The afternoon started with a stunning demonstration by National Demonstrator Nick Grounds, Nick received a standing ovation from the club for his imaginative creations. Janice Cooke gave a heartfelt vote of thanks, and Margaret Taylor praised Chairman Caroline and her committee for steering the Club through the recent changes.

Foyer Flowers were created by member Pat Jacques to represent both 1954 and 2024.

The demonstration was followed by a delicious afternoon tea, organised by committee member Janet Hodges through “Cotswold Cakes & Bakes”.

The committee would like to thank everybody who worked to make this event a success.

“Floral Idols” by Alison Penno

71 members and 9 visitors gave National Demonstrator Alison a well deserved standing ovation, her floral tributes to her idols were varied and spectacular and this well attended May meeting was enjoyed by all.

Thanks to Jan Mallet for her foyer flowers and to Jenny Lawrence for her vote of thanks, many thanks to the volunteers who run the stalls, unload and reload cars and generally make the meetings happen.

Congratulations to Club President Rosemary and Club Member Paula for their successes at the recent Malvern Show.

“Spring Madness” by Adrian Cooke

77 members and 8 visitors really enjoyed both Adrian’s amazing creations and his anecdotes.  The committee were delighted to welcome more new members and visitors to the club and to see such a good turnout.

Thanks to Teresa Richards for her Foyer Flowers, to Geraldine Prosser for her Vote of Thanks, and to the volunteers who helped make the meeting happen.

The floral competition “Springtime” was judged by demonstrator Adrian and by the “coin votes” from the members.  The novice class rose bowl went to new committee member Lynette Ayers, in the intermediate class our judge selected the entry by Di Roe for first place with Jan Mallett second, the members voted for Jan first and Di second – congratulations to everybody who was involved.

Sadly our Chairman Caroline is still unwell and was unable to attend, therefore Club Secretary Vicki Atherton took the meeting.

March Demonstration “March Madness, April Fools” by Coral Gardener

65 members and 7 visitors gave Coral a well deserved standing ovation for her demonstration which thoroughly entertained the club in the new venue, members are now trying to track down her latest “must have” the floraguppy device.  Thanks to Margaret Hunter for her foyer flowers and to Tricia Ratcliffe for her vote of thanks, huge thanks to President Rosemary for standing in for Chairman Caroline, everybody in the club sends their warm wishes for Caroline to return home and to the club soon.  The committee would like to thank everybody who helped make the demonstration possible and the members who attended despite the meeting not being held on our regular club day.
