“Are you sitting comfortably?” by Lorena Dyer

The Club was delighted to welcome Lorena back to Cheltenham in our new venue.  The quantity and quality of her arrangements particularly during the current weather conditions impressed all of the 75 members and 7 visitors who attended.  Lorena received a well deserved standing ovation and once again everybody was hoping to win something in the raffle.  Thanks to Janice Cooke for her foyer flowers, Sue Wood for her vote of thanks and everybody who helped the committee stage the demonstration, not least to the Pavilion whose air conditioning system was much appreciated.

The club was delighted to welcome 4 new members for the second half of our year.  Chairman Caroline reminded everybody that there are still some places available on the August trip to Devizes and that our next full meeting will be on September 8th.

“Remember When….” by Lee Berrill, 9th June 2025

71 members and 8 visitors were delighted to welcome Lee back to Cheltenham Flower Club.  Lee took the members on a trip down “Memory Lane” with his enchanting designs depicting his, (and most members) childhood memories.  He received a well deserved standing ovation for his efforts.

Thanks to Jan Mallett for her beautiful foyer flowers and for running the reception table, thanks to Jenny Lawrence for her vote of thanks and to all the volunteers who helped the committee hold yet another successful afternoon.

May 2025 Club meeting and Demonstration

73 Members and 7 Visitors started the May meeting by congratulating Club President Rosemary Stammers and Club Committee member Paula Harper on their tremendous successes at Malvern Spring Festival; Rosemary received a reserve best in show together with a handful of very highly commendeds, Paula received Bronze for her spectacular Beacon.

The club then thoroughly enjoyed the demonstration – “Women who changed the World” by Joanna Davis, the arrangements were plentiful offering lots of opportunities for the proud raffle prize winners and Joanna had an interesting and up-lifting story about every woman that her flowers represented.

Many thanks to Sheila Hand for her lovely foyer flowers and Jenny Bennett for her Vote of Thanks, Chairman Caroline thanked all the volunteers who helped the committee to stage yet another enjoyable afternoon.

“Not your usual Flower Fix” by Tracey Griffin

Yet another enchanting afternoon at the Pavilion, 80 members and 10 visitors watched Chelsea Gold Medal winner and National Demonstrator Tracey Griffin create spectacular and unusual creations using a variety of mechanics and stunning flowers.  The Club gave her a well deserved standing ovation.

Many thanks to Geraldine Prosser for her Vote of Thanks, Paula Harper for her Foyer Flowers, and all the volunteers who helped stage this lively demonstration.

“Blooms in a Teacup” – Competition

With seventeen entries, this competition captured the imagination of the Members, many thanks to everybody who entered and everybody who showed their appreciation of the exhibits by leaving coins for our designated Charity.

“A Step into Spring” by Andrew Lloyd

The club were delighted to welcome Andrew back to Cheltenham, 82 members and 9 visitors gave Andrew a standing ovation after spending a delightful afternoon joining him on a journey through spring from St. Valentine’s Day to Easter.  It was another excellent turnout with yet more new members joining the club.  Thanks to Di Roe for her Foyer Flowers and to Chris Hyett for her Vote of Thanks.  Special thanks to the committee and hardworking volunteers who make each demonstration possible.  New committee member Paula started compiling a list of people signing up to the August 2025 trip to Pam Lewis’ Garden and Studio in Devizes.

“Beyond Mere Words” demonstration by Sionedd Hughes

83 Club members and visitors gave Sionedd a well deserved standing ovation for her “Beyond Mere Words” demonstration.  The arrangements were varied and wonderful with some really useful foliage tips dispensed to us.  Sionedd’s tales of life in general and on her farm had us all wanting her re-booked for an update very soon.

Many thanks to the volunteers who as usual helped the committee stage this first demonstration of 2025, particular thanks to members Jan Mallett for her foyer flowers and Pat Jacques for her vote of thanks.

The committee were delighted with the amount of 2024 members who have already renewed their membership for 2025, and are delighted to welcome 7 brand new members for 2025.
